Everyone eats food, and it has to come from somewhere. An estimated 80 million additional people could be at risk for hunger due to climate change in 2050. Additionally, over 25% of all food produced is wasted or lost, costing an estimated $1 trillion per year.
Over 2 billion people work in agriculture worldwide, the majority of which farm to feed their families. Climate change poses an immediate and detrimental threat to global food systems by way of changing weather patterns, increasing instances of pest and disease outbreak, and decreasing water availability among other impacts. Ironically, agricultural systems also remain a top producer of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. Education about food consumption and production is crucial for a future of positive change.
Our goal is to spread awareness of sustainable agriculture that reduces environmental harm and promotes resilience to climate change.
